Job Description Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, Department of Criminal Justice.

ROLE OF THE POSITION

Full-time, tenure-track or tenured 9‑month position starting Fall 2026. Candidate will have expertise in policing, crime analysis, or public safety (especially for large scale events). Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (three per semester, possible summer), advising graduate students, and engaging in community partnerships. Faculty participate in the Tourist Safety Institute and the Center for Crime and Justice Policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related Social Science from an accredited institution. For Assistant Professor: demonstrate ability to teach in‑person and online courses and conduct original research. A candidate may not yet have earned a Ph.D., but must have the degree before July 1, 2026. For Associate Professor: strong record of teaching at undergraduate and graduate level, evidence of community involvement, and publication record suitable for tenure. For Professor: strong teaching record, mentoring experience, evidence of community partnerships, and distinguished publication record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Evidence of knowledge and ability to teach and research in one of the three expertise areas. Record of obtaining grants and contacts. Understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Salary commensurate with rank and competitive with similar institutions.
