SJS Executives LLC, also known as SJS Industrial, is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to support our Engineering & Design department on healthcare and medical services projects at U.S. government facilities. In this role, you will contribute directly to mission success and operational excellence by creating functional, safe, and patient-centered interior environments for clinics, hospitals, and related medical spaces. The Interior Designer will collaborate closely with healthcare administrators, clinical staff, engineers, architects, and facility managers to plan and develop interior layouts that support efficient workflows and high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for space planning, interior finish and material selection, and furniture and equipment layouts, while ensuring that all design solutions align with applicable healthcare regulations, building codes, and accessibility standards. Working as part of an integrated engineering and design team, you will prepare detailed interior design drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD and related design tools. You will participate in field verifications and site assessments at government healthcare facilities, document existing conditions, and translate project requirements into clear, buildable design solutions. You will coordinate closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure that the design intent is properly implemented during construction and installation. In this position, you will develop cohesive concepts for public, clinical, and staff areas, selecting appropriate finishes, lighting, furniture, and fixtures that balance durability, infection control requirements, safety, accessibility, and aesthetics. You will support the preparation of presentations, mood boards, product samples, and design narratives for review by government stakeholders and clinical leadership. Your work will help ensure that interior environments are welcoming for patients and families, supportive of clinical workflows, and efficient for facility operations. This role requires familiarity with standards and guidelines that affect healthcare interiors, such as ADA accessibility requirements, building and life safety codes, and healthcare-specific guidance such as FGI and Joint Commission-related considerations where applicable. You will contribute to ongoing quality control, review construction documents, and help refine SJS’s internal design standards and best practices. SJS Executives fosters a culture of respect, integrity, and commitment, supporting both personal and professional growth. As an Interior Designer with SJS, you will be expected to model these values in your interactions with colleagues, partners, and government clients. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful public-sector projects that positively impact patients, staff, and communities, while building your career within a stable and mission-driven organization. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. The work will involve a combination of office-based design and documentation, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and periodic on-site visits to government healthcare facilities. SJS provides the resources, structure, and support you need to advance your skills and responsibilities over time, while contributing to critical healthcare infrastructure for U.S. government operations.
