Who you are:
You are a highly motivated self-starter looking to propel your career to the next level in a thriving and collegial professional environment.

Who we are:

Tarter Krinsky & Drogin LLP (TKD) is an entrepreneurial, growing, and highly supportive firm located in the heart of New York City. Our position as a mid-size firm promotes a work environment that fosters relationship building inside and outside of the office.

We care about each other, our clients, the work we do, and the communities in which we live. It’s the kind of environment where every employee can develop into their best professional selves, where everyone’s contributions matter, and where each employee makes a real difference right from the start. TKD is a place to challenge, share ideas, and contribute your ideas and skills as part of an exceptional team. Each day holds an opportunity to make a real impact.

What we do:
TKD’s Construction Group represents corporate and institutional owners and developers in transactional and dispute-related construction matters. We handle every aspect of a construction matter from construction and design agreements to leasing to financing to any resulting litigation. The group also works on complex projects in New York and globally that involve agreements with multiple contractors, architects and engineers, and serve as the liaison between all the players involved to keep projects moving. The Construction Group advises the development community behind the latest hotel, residential, retail and arts projects in cutting-edge neighborhoods.

Our client roster features some of the world’s leading developers and investors. We represent clients in multiple segments of the construction industry, including developers, retailers, not-for-profit institutions, healthcare, educational facilities, banks, contractors, design professionals, and well-known artists and business professionals.

The firm’s Construction Group has garnered impressive rankings, including being named as a top practice in New York by U.S. News Best Law Firms and Law360 and several of its practitioners were named to Chambers USA guide to leading lawyers.

What the role entails:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Associate to join our Construction Group. The ideal candidate will have 3-12 years (5+ years preferred) of hands-on experience in construction law, real estate law, or commercial litigation. We are seeking a candidate who has experience and knowledge with mechanics liens and lien foreclosures, RPAPL 881 proceedings, construction and design defects, and construction delays. Experience in negotiating and drafting construction agreements and license/access agreements is highly valued. The Firm’s structure allows the practitioner the opportunity to interact with other practice groups.

Required skills:
The candidate must have demonstrated excellence in writing, legal analysis and negotiation skills. We seek candidates with a solid academic background and excellent interpersonal skills. Must have flexibility to juggle multiple cases, work under tight deadlines and operate in a fast-paced environment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Admission in New York is required.

TKD is currently maintaining a hybrid schedule structured as Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office with the option to be remote on Mondays and Fridays.

What you'll love about us:
We care about your professional and personal growth. Training and developing our team members are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to cultivating development opportunities for you and helping you achieve your targeted career goals. The firm values your unique characteristics. We foster an inclusive and diverse environment where multiple perspectives are appreciated as we understand that our employees play an intricate role in the expansion and success of our firm.

Compensation & benefits:
The good faith base annual salary range for this position is a minimum of $130,000 to a maximum of $215,000. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, applicable bar admissions, office location, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. Market and Firm factors are also considered.

Our generous benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance; 401K, disability, life insurance, and Paid Time Off (PTO).
