Norman Regional Health System, a multi-campus healthcare provider serving the greater Norman area in Oklahoma, is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist 8 (CLS/MT) to join our Laboratory Services team. In this vital role, you will perform complex clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, such as chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, immunology, and transfusion services, in support of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. You will be responsible for accurately performing, analyzing, and validating test results, recognizing critical values, and promptly communicating abnormal or life-threatening results to providers in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Using advanced analyzers and laboratory information systems, you will troubleshoot instrumentation issues, perform quality control and quality assurance activities, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in proficiency testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory data. As a senior member of the lab team, the Clinical Lab Scientist 8 (CLS/MT) will serve as a technical resource and preceptor for newer staff and students, helping to orient and train colleagues while promoting best practices in specimen collection, handling, and processing. You will collaborate closely with pathologists, nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnosis and treatment, contributing directly to patient-centered care. This position will involve prioritizing and organizing work in a fast-paced environment, participating in process improvement initiatives, and adhering to safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission standards.
