Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical informatics expert supporting EHR modernization, working at the intersection of clinical practice, digital health workflows, and enterprise system transformation
- Lead clinical workflow assessments to identify inefficiencies and redesign processes aligned with best practices in clinical care
- Support the design, build, validation, testing, and optimization of EHR functionality across both legacy and modern EHR environments
- Define problem statements, user needs, and feature requirements for clinical informatics initiatives
- Collaborate with clinicians, stakeholders, product owners, and informatics SMEs to ensure feature scope aligns with clinical needs and enterprise priorities
- Provide change management expertise to help clinicians successfully adopt new workflows related to EHR system changes
- Partner with terminology specialists, data managers, and standards teams to ensure structured data and terminologies follow national standards
- Work closely with facility informatics leaders, frontline clinicians, technical teams, and integration partners
- Support transformation into a High Reliability Organization and Learning Health System through continuous improvement initiatives
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Evaluate and refine clinical decision support, documentation tools, order entry pathways, alerts, and standardized content
- Distinguish whether operational problems require workflow optimization, training, or new configuration-minimizing unnecessary customization and technical debt
- Participate in sizing, validation, and refinement of informatics features using SAFe and Lean-Agile principles
- Support design of training materials, super-user support structures, and digital adoption tools to accelerate go-live readiness
- Engage facility-level and regional informatics teams to assess readiness and monitor adoption
- Ensure enterprise clinical content is consistent, validated, and compliant
- Support development of KPIs and value-delivery measurements to demonstrate impact of EHR changes
Preferred Experience and Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in a clinical field (nursing, allied health) or clinical informatics; advanced degree preferred
- 3-8+ years of experience in clinical informatics, clinical workflow optimization, or health IT solution development
- Demonstrated experience working with EHR systems (e.g., Oracle Health Millennium/Cerner, Epic, or similar)
- Experience conducting workflow analysis, requirements development, and user-centered design
- Familiarity with Lean-Agile principles, SAFe practices, and iterative delivery environments
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across clinical, technical, and leadership teams
- U.S. work authorization required
- Must be willing to travel up to 15 times per quarter
