Nobu Miami is the Miami outpost of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's new Japanese cuisine empire. Nobu draws upon his classical training at sushi bars in Tokyo and his life abroad in Peru, Argentina, and around the world to create a whole new trend in Japanese cuisine, bringing a burst of excitement to the already famed scene of Miami Beach. Located in the Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc, Nobu adds an extra level of class and sophistication to the iconic hotel. Nobu Miami now offers patio seating as well as an exclusive Teppan Room. Nobu's signature dishes such as Yellowtail with Jalapeo and Black Cod Miso are served to throngs of fans, proving that in the end, it is all about the food.

Highly Acclaimed Nobu Miami Beach Restaurant is currently looking to expand our Bar/Culinary Team. We are looking for reliable, hardworking and professional Bar Prep and Polisher. All candidates must possess knowledge of restaurant kitchen procedures, basic knife skills and a solid understanding of food preparation and health code standards. The Bar Prep/Polisher schedule will be working AM Shifts Sunday and Mondays, PM shifts Thursday-Saturday.

Prior relevant experience and familiarity with produce and basic cooking supplies and equipment is required. He or she must be committed to the customers, reliable to his or her co-workers, and be a self-motivated, organized, and detailed individual. Professional speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
• Ensures proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis by requisitioning and stocking and preparing all, condiments and produce according to established policies
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Prepares food items to order following established recipes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
• Polish all glasses ware to be used in the dining room.
• Stock shelves, racks, tables and service stations with necessary supplies for service

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
• One year of relevant experience
• Excellent customer service focus
• Knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
