Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Character Artist / Animator to help bring our characters to life in a dark, stylized fantasy project. This role will focus on creating high-quality character models and animations that align with a grounded, brutal medieval tone and a painterly, oil-inspired visual style.

You’ll be working closely with a small, experienced team and will have a direct impact on the look, feel, and identity of the game.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character models from concept to in-game ready assets
• Develop stylized textures that reflect a painterly / oil-brush aesthetic
• Rig and animate characters (combat, locomotion, idle, etc.)
• Collaborate with art direction to maintain a consistent visual identity
• Optimize assets for real-time performance
• Iterate quickly based on feedback

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing character art and animation work
• Experience with stylized or semi-realistic character pipelines
• Proficiency in tools such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or similar
• Understanding of topology, rigging, and animation principles
• Ability to match a defined art direction and style
• Strong attention to detail

Nice to Have

• Experience working on games or real-time projects
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity
• Experience with combat animation systems
• Understanding of dark fantasy / medieval themes
